ABOUT ME
Hi there! Thanks for wandering onto my website. My name’s Amy, and I’m a fourth-year graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin (hook’em). I’m working towards getting my Ph.D. in Sociology, and I’m based out of Austin, Texas.
I’m a huge fan of dogs, penguins, oxford commas, and protected left turns. In my non-academic life, if I’m not cheering on the Longhorns or the San Antonio Spurs, I’m probably reading a book somewhere or working on my dance skills (let me take you to a West Coast Swing class sometime!). I love to travel, and I’ve spent some time in about half of the states in the USA, China, Nicaragua, Mexico, Italy, Great Britain, Sweden, and Japan — hopefully I can add more to that list soon!
I’ve had a passion for photography and design since I was a young teenager, and I’m really grateful to have had the opportunity to improve on these skills over the years. In college, I spent three and a half years on the staff of The Daily Texan, working my way through every position in the photo department before eventually switching into management. Currently, I do freelance design work for the TexARTS Association.
